Work is Fun
A lot of people I know have pretty lame jobs. Today I was snacking on oatmeal, drinking mocha coffee and coding. I have dual monitors, on one I have Eclipse and some SSH sessions into our Linux and Solaris boxes at work. The other runs IE6 (lame) for testing my code and Firefox for code-lookup (and huffingtonpost reading) purposes (today in particular was Struts 2 action wildcard tutorials). I was in the zone, I had several log files scrolling like crazy with tail -f and my build script running and deploying my webapp every few minutes after code adjustments. I was creating (and subsequently debugging) code, improving previous architecture decisions and learning more about JSP all at once. I was just in my zone. A balance of intellect, joy and plain fun all while being paid to do it.
